Enjoy Your Wedding.
I’ll handle the photos.
Hello, I’m Andrew
I’m a wedding photographer based in Sheffield, working across Yorkshire and the UK - catching the moments beyond the kiss, since 2019.
"We'd been to a few weddings before with the full setup: multiple photographers, huge cameras, overhead drone footage, posed photos of every combination of guest. These are wonderful to look back on, but we just knew it wasn't us. We wanted someone to be there almost as a guest…
"On the day, Andrew was spectacular. Most times, we honestly forgot he was there. We never felt like he was intruding on intimate moments, yet he captured them as we remember them… We ended up with a wonderful chronicle of the day, as it was."
"The photos" is often the bit people dread, not the wedding itself. Standing there, not knowing what to do with your hands, being told to “act natural”, which has never once made anyone look natural.
They can seem awkward at first. I don't pretend that feeling away, but portraits are a small part of the day, and we won’t disappear for an hour, leaving your guests wondering where you've gone. It's just the two of you, having a stroll somewhere quiet, actually talking to each other properly for the first time all day. That's where the real photos come from.
The rest of the day I'm in amongst your friends and family, camera down more often than up, watching for the moment. During the speeches, I'm not stood at the side with a long lens, I'm sat in a spare seat close to the top table, catching your mum's face in the second before the tears, and yours, as your dad lifts his glasses to read what he's written. Once your first dance is done, I'm not at the edge of the floor, I'm in the middle of it, camera up, getting jostled along with everyone else, because that's the only place to be for what happens next.
I choose what’s in your album the same way I choose what to shoot in the first place, for the moment and the story, not just for the smile. That's the job.
"With a wealth of wedding suppliers available, we found it easy to get stuck in an Instagram wormhole. With our brief of wanting a fun, relaxed, candid, documentary style story of our big day, we knew that Andrew was the one for us after laying eyes on his work."
"Neither of us felt super confident in front of the camera, but Andrew put us right at ease.
We couldn't be more pleased with the end result, and marvel at how perfectly he's captured the story of our wonderful wedding day."
